Accessibility

BrainGamer is for health-minded adults, and we want every part of it to be comfortable to use, whatever your eyesight, hearing, or how you like to get around a screen. We build to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA as our baseline, and we treat accessibility as part of the work, not an extra.

Easy to read

Type is large and high contrast by default, and it scales with your browser or device text size. Layouts are roomy with one clear action at a time, so screens feel calm rather than busy.

Full keyboard play

You can play every game and use every page with a keyboard alone, no mouse or touch needed. The focus outline is always visible so you can see where you are, and a skip link lets you jump straight to the main content.

Works with screen readers

Controls, tiles, and results are labelled, and live updates like a copied result or a valid move are announced. Game state, such as the board size or your step compared to par, is described in words, not by look alone.

Color and contrast

We meet AA contrast for text and interface elements, and we never rely on color by itself to tell you something. A valid move shows a check as well as a color, and stars show a count alongside the symbol.

Motion

Animations are gentle and never required to understand anything. If your device is set to reduce motion, we honor that and turn animations off.

Plain, honest language

Microcopy is warm and plain. This is a puzzle and a workout, not a test. We never score your health, and we never tell you that you did worse than before.

Where we are still working

We ship a single warm light theme for now so the brand reads consistently. A proper dark theme that meets the same AA standard is planned. Accessibility is never finished, and we keep improving it as the suite grows.

Tell us when something is hard

If any part of BrainGamer is difficult to use, we want to know so we can fix it. Your feedback makes the whole thing better for everyone.
