Knackle

Knackle is a short daily numbers puzzle. You get six numbers and one target to aim for, like 528. Join your numbers together with plus, minus, times and divide until you land on the target. Everyone gets the same puzzle each day, and it takes a few minutes.

How to play

1. You get six numbers and one target number.
2. Pick two of your numbers and join them with plus, minus, times or divide. The answer becomes a new number you can use.
3. Keep going. Each number can be used once, and every answer along the way has to be a whole number above zero.
4. Land on the target, or get as close as you can and send that in. Undo and Reset are there whenever you want them.

Scoring and streaks

• Finishing the day keeps your streak going, however close you got, and is always worth at least one star.
• Hit the target using as few of the six numbers as possible for three stars. One number more than that earns two.
• We only ever tell you about a personal best. We will never tell you that you did worse than last time.

Sharing your result

When you finish, you get a spoiler-free badge to share. It shows how you did, never the answer, so friends can be curious without spoiling their own puzzle.

Is everyone’s puzzle the same?

Yes. Everyone gets the same six numbers and the same target each day.

What if I cannot hit the target exactly?

Send in your closest answer instead. The day still counts and your streak keeps going.

Can I make it easier or harder?

Yes. Knackle has three levels: Gentle, Regular and Hard. Pick one before you start. Everyone who picks the same level gets the same puzzle.

Do I need an account?

No. You can play right away. A free account is only there to keep your streak in step across your devices.
